How do I create a Bluray with menu?

Place 1080i file on timeline. Created chapter marks, etc. Clicked on Create Disc. Create a nice menu, etc.

Selected 2D Disc and Bluray. Choice there says BDMV (with menu). After I burn to rewriteable disc, it won't play back at all. So I tried using MPC-HC to play the folder. Video plays but no menu. When I look at the files in the BDMV folder, the menu video is there, but there are also several files that won't play.

What's going on? Any idea? Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

You need a blu-ray player such as PowerDVD on your pc or a standalone one to play that created disc. You did not say that you want to play the created BD-RE on which software or standalone BD player. Assuming a simple 1 title BD with chapters then using Windows Explorer go to BDMV\STREAM\ 00000.m2ts is your movie, 00001.m2ts is your root menu, 00003.m2ts is your first scenes menu, etc.

To view your movie use vlc/Media/Open Disc/Blu-ray/Play. The first chapter should start playing.

To see all your chapters click on Playback/Chapter/ and see all your chapters listed. Click on any of them to jump ahead.

If you have a problem playing on a particular BD player then tell us the brand name and model number.

When I select Open Disc IN VLC, it doesn't work. No menu, nothing. MPC-HC just starts playing the file - no menu.

I have an LG stand alone player and the disc that PD13 creates, will not play at all. Disc just spins.

Will try burning to folder and burn with Imgburn tomorrow.

Are you sure that you put a menu on your Disk?

No Menu selection will start playing as soon as the disk loads and continue until you press stop. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

I spent almost an entire day creating a nice menu. There is obviously something wrong with the PD13 bluray burn engine. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

No. It sounds like that you need to go to the Create disc/Menu Preferences and actually highlight that saved created menu and then click on a popup window apply to all pages. On the left bottom of that page you should see 4 checkboxes at the bottom. Check them all if you don't know what they do to start. Only then shoulld you preview the menu(simulated BD player).

Try burn to folder and set a lower burn speed. Better still just use the PD13 sample files, your menu and burn to a BD-RE. It should take only a few minutes.

If the Preview works correctly, then the burned disc should work. I have checked all the options and burned a Bluray more than 5 times. PD13 just doesn't burn a Bluray correctly.

Imgburn works.

I've been working on a project the past few days. I just burned a BluRay with a menu in PD13.

PD13 does work and it's a BluRay with a menu.

Seemed to work ok for me!

I am trying to make a Blu Ray with files that are not a high def, they are mpg4 files that are 720x480 from an old Hi 8 camcorder. Should the menus work properly in a stand alone Blu Ray player. I have tried on Nero and can't get the menus to work properly, I have purchased and will try VideoDirector. I had also tired mpg2 files and they did not work any better.

Is there a "standard" set of settings to get highly compatable Blu Rays? PD15
