Hi...

I couldn't find any recent tutorial video of Subtitle Room except this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY-Uf42CRjE

How do I highlight the lyric text with a different color when it's sing?

Regards,

Joseph

Use titles from Title Room instead of sub titles.

With titles you can use different color, size and fonts plus all kind of special effects.

Hope this helps you.

Hi Anja,

Yes I am aware of the Title Room, but I would like to highlight the lyric as in this video clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv-5BnKOFWU Speed up and slow down depend on the tempo of the music.

Any idea how to do it?

Regards,
Joseph

You control the speed of the highlight by the duration of the title. Faster is shorter duration.

That is a very simple explanation. The actual production is multiple titles, multiple tracks involved.

Some Tutorials:

Multiple Text Color Changing Effect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwrTE220vi8

Multiple Text Tracks Tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOwtIcWrmUY PD8, later versions of PD allow titles in any track.

Hi Carl,
as far that I can see none of the links you supported meet the need for Joseph.
But clearly if one should know 'how to' it must be one of the PDTOOTS team.
In my opinion the 'Highlight lyric in music video' could either be a plug in or an feature in an other video editing program.

I do not remember seeing any of the tutorials that directly apply to what Joseph is asking about. I do know it can be done, but it might take same learning of the various Text effects to do what Joseph wants to do.

Part of the problem is we are now using Powerdirector 14, but many of the tutorials were made in Powerdirector 8, PD 8 had one Title track. PD 14 has up to 99 Tracks that you can put Titles into. If you find the text effects Tutorials made in Powerdirector 9 and above, you might get a better idea of what can be done.

I can think of the basic 'stuff' that needs to happen to produce the highlighting of each word as sung. It is not a 1-2-3 step process. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Hi zomidaily -

Here's a Christmas Cracker for you...

This question was raised a few years back - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/23585 - and I'm afraid my response hasn't got any better!

In the csreen capture, it looks like a sliding colour board fill is being used. That could work.

The simplest way I know how to do that is to use duplicate/modified titles, like this

Here's a little Christmas song where it's been applied

If you're interested in seeing how it was done, you can download the zipped, **packed PDR14 project here** Also, I've uploaded the basic title templates for the project to DirectorZone
