STITCHING CLIPS TO MAKE TIME LAPSE VIDEO IN PD13

Is there an easy way of stitching a series of clips of a sunset to simulate time-lapse, using PD13? Or do I have to do it the hardway and edit the duration of each clip?

Hi Tongal68

The way I do it is: place all your stills on the timeline highlight the first, hold down "shift" and click on the last photo. This action will highlight all your clips.

Go to "duration" and select about 1 FRAME per second. When you play the "movie" or more correctly, time lapse video, you will see that sun go down quicker than Usane Bolt in the 100 metres. Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

Gents,

Thanks for your quick response. I moved the clips to the time-line and selected them, but the Slideshow icon does not appear above the time-line as per your screen shot. The only active icons I can see are Synch by Audio, Remove Selected Clips and More Features icons. Why is the Slideshow icon not there, not even showing as an inactive icon; the same goes for the Duration icon. Going by your screenshot, Dafydd, the Slideshow icon should be positioned next to the Synch by Audio.

You advice would be appreciated please.

The Slideshow icon appears only when you selected images or photos only. Clips cannot be used for any slideshow. You must edit the duration of every clip.

One thing you could do is to produce the video clips as one video and then place it on the timeline, choose Power tools and set a faster video speed.

Let us know if this solves your problem.

P.S. Looks like the quote function is not working well at this moment...

Yes, as tomasc says, just place your clips in the timeline and set a speed of something like 75x in Power Tools. Here's a time-lapse video I made last year using that exact technique:

Maybe you accidentally checked the Disable HTML and/or Disable BB Code checkboxes below the text window in the forum editor?

No, I don't think so. In answering a different post, I ended a lot of Processes and Services with the Windows task manager and later with End It All2 while IE was still open for this post: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/44228.page . I closed IE and reopen it and the quote function is working again. I must have closed an essential process. Don't plan to do it again. Just trying to help another user.

Thanks for the advice guys, it looks like I have to edit and set time duration clip by clip. So be it. Nice work optodata.

Hi tomasc ,
If the OP checks the "Disable BB Code," the quotation display fails to appear correctly. Revisiting one's post, click "edit" icon and unchecking will bring back the quotation box display.

A follow on/answering reply post mimics what the previous settings were.
Dafydd

PS I edited the post: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/44242.page#229016 - unchecking "Disable BB code"

Hi Tongal68

I'm assuming that you are using video clips and not photos.

If so, put all clips on timeline and go to the Produce tab. Produce video as close to the original clips.

Import this Produced clip and place in timeline and select Power Tools and adjust the Video Speed to suit then Produce this sped up file.

Note this may take a long time depending on the power of your PC.

Neil's advice is really good. I hadn't thought about the extra work in having to individully speed up lots of clips.

Back in the days of PD10 when I was first getting started with video, the max speedup was 10x so I had to produce 5 hours of footage to get it to 30 minutes, then I had to do it again to get down to 3 before i could actually start making this video. It's pretty funny though
