That's great that CL was able to replicate the issue. I just ran some tests and found some really bizarre things:
For my test project I used the 20x boats.wmv from another thread and then rotated every other clip 180° to make the transition problems easier to see. Then I applied random
overlapped (not cross-fade) transitions. After I made a split - either full timeline like OP did or a selecting a single clip - the transition at the end of the split clip worked normally but
every-
other transition was broken all the way to the end. For example, if I split the first clip, then the first
and every odd-numbered transition (3rd, 5th, 7th) is OK, but all the
even-numbered transitions (2nd, 4th, 6th) are broken!
As if that wasn't strange enough, when I hit Ctrl+Z all the broken (even-numbered) transitions were restored but all the
odd-numbered transitions (
except for the first one past my split) were now broken! That means the undo doesn't actually undo anything, instead it breaks things in a different way!
We're definitely going to need a patch for that!
Oh, and another workaround is to simply close PD and reopen it. The damage is confined to the working image in RAM (and is related to why the Undo doesn'r work properly) and even if you save the project in the "damaged" state, it will actually open up and behave correctly.
Everyone is welcome to download my
*project* and give it a try on their systems to see if they get the same results.
