Very bad bug in PD 13

Any AVI file I try to import rotates 90 degrees when I put it on the timeline. The frame isn't rotated, but the picture gets rotated, like if you took a vertical phone picture. I've attached a screenshot.

CyberLink are aware of the bug and I'm told it's been "fixed", I will try and find out a bit more.

Hi Tymothi,
It's an either or and a maybe bit of info for you Tym. The "fix" will either be an update patch or in a beta patch (if CL run a beta patch) post on the forum and I don't know when.

Tried to talk to support about this, keep getting form-letter responses with occasional bits of unhelpful info. This has rendered this program useless to me, as much of what I work with is in AVI format.

All the other bugs and redraw problems and crashes and just general lack of polish and functionality I accepted as part of buying the bargain basement option, but now I just dropped a hundred bucks on a program that I can't use.

Done with the company, and leaving honest and detailed 1 star reviews on every site I can find.

I can report the same issue with the trial version of PD13. I work with AVI and MP4 files.

AVI files (from Bandicam) end up being rotated.

MP4 files (from AVerMedia capture device) work fine.

AVI files from FRAPS work fine.

The files from Bandicam use Divx codec (properties in PD but Bandicam says it's XVid).

Tymothi what codec are your AVI files using?

Hi!

That fixed it for me

I believe I had to install the patch twice but otherwise all good. That video wasn't working before, it rotated.
