I am working with Cyber link power director 12 ultra and I am going to put a video together and in the beginning I want to have a black fade in but I want to make it longer than just one click which I guess is about 1 or 2 seconds. Within this area I want to start my music. Before I start my first clip. How can I extend the fade in the black area.

Hi,

Use a black colorboard - you decide the length with a fade transition to the start of your video.

An alternative to the fine method mentioned earlier...

Select the opening clip and click MODIFY. Scroll down and tic the FADE IN box.

Back in the clip - on the timeline - there will be two keyframes (dots) on the video track. The second dot is where the video will be 100% brightness.

Hover the pointer over that dot until it turns red, then drag it right to lengthen fade time. Dragging it left will lessen the fade duration. Dragging a keyframe dot up/down increases/decreases opacity.
