Why does SVRT not work on these clips from my two DSLRs ?

They are both using Quicktime files with H.264 codec.

Hi,

As I just purchased a Pentax k-50 kit as my second camera, I downloaded the Pentax clip.
And, no SVRT enabled. I am not in the habit of using SVRT at all, but would even so like to know
why it is not enabled.

Nina,

How do you like your K-50 ?

Does it also make shutter noise when starting/stopping the video like the K-30 ?

Hi Julienne,

it's so new, I am in the beginning of using it. But yes, it seems like start / stop makes noise, but if I
have got the "pause" correctly, that one is silent. I have yet to uncover what effect the noise will
have on the video taken. Did a couple of tests, will look at it.

Ok, there is a click noise, but not too pronaunced - what I could hear at this point.
However, a drawback in any case, is of course that you can't connect external mic.
But for a "all-do" camera to carry around most times, I think it will do for me. I decided to act on a very good
deal for me (being in Norway) during the holidays - had the camera kit (2 lenses) sent from NewYork!!

So, wonder why SVRT isn't working......

What do you mean by "pause" ? You can pause video recording on the K-50 ?
Or are you talking about pausing playback ? MSI X99A Raider

This thread has strayed somewhat away from the OP. I'll bring it back to the original thread topic.

1. Pentax sample provided = SVRT available to a CUSTOM profile, just select a similar profile and alter the Average bitrate, as shown in the images.
2. The Canon is different. I've passingly looked at the profile and changed the bitrate to no avail. I believe the issue is more likely due to the audio bitrate being beyond the profile. I'll pass on my info to CL.

Thank you very much, it works with the Pentax clip with this custom profile.
Is there any reason why the "Intelligent SVRT" can't automatically create this profile ?
It would definitely be nice to have.

Please let me know what you find about the Canon clip.

It does seem strange that Intelligent SVRT picks up the "red" Custom profile for both, with one it's fine to tweak and create*, the other not. As I mentioned the Audio bitrate looks to be the issue. I'll keep an eye on things.
*Intelligent SVRT should have created the profile!

Hi Julien Pierre,
Thank you for chasing this up, I welcome the reminder. I have followed up the matter, when I have news I'll post. Keep an eye on the beta release versions (on the top of the PDR12 forum), check them out and let me know if anything changes for you.

Dafydd,

Thanks. I tried the latest beta build, but it did not improve this problem.

Dafydd,

I'm reviving this old thread. I still the above two cameras.

The workaround you provided for my Pentax K-30 camera - to create the manual profile - worked in PowerDirector 12, but no longer works in PowerDirector 13 .

And I can't test it in PowerDirector 14, as the trial version seems to disable SVRT on all cameras due to the forced rendering of the text "Edited with PowerDirector".

Would you mind trying this Pentax clip again and seeing if there is a way to make it work with PD13 or PD14 ?

And of course, it would be great if the Canon clip could be made to work as well with SVRT, in either PD13 or PD14 .

Thanks,
Julien

Hi Julien Pierre,
Please copy and paste (and attach here) to a text file the PDR12 profile that does work.
In Profile.ini you'll need to loo and identify the template. A custom template starts with two ampersands "&&" and ends with a third after all the template text info "&". You'll probably see three ampersands together - just remember the first one marks the end of the previous and the next two are the start of the new.
OK, For a custom profile to transfer from 12 to 13, you first have to create a custom profile in 13. It's a kicker for the layout, so can be any darn profile you want. You then copy the info from the PDR12 Profile.ini into 13's Profile.ini file. Test PDR13 out.

When I have the info, I'll check it out in PDR14 for you.

Dafydd

Dafydd,

Here is the content of all my profiles that were created in PD12 .

The first one, "Pentax K-30", only works in PD12 - but not PD10, PD11 PD13, or PD14 trial . I tried it with the IMGP6165.MOV file attached at the top of this thread. Would you mind testing for me if this profile works in the real (not trial) PD14 with that clip ?

FYI I just copied the entire Profile.ini over to the other versions of PD, since I didn't have any useful profile in them.

Almost of my other PD12 profiles, for the Sony FDR-AX33 camera - my newest camera, also work in PD10/PD11 - even the 4K profile. But this same 4K profile doesn't work in PD13. I haven't made an exact list of all the combinations that work or fail. That's a lot more clips and combinations to test. I have another thread about the FDR-AX33 & SVRT in the PD13 forum at
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/45435.page#234609
though I did not attach the clips for all possible combinations there, only a few. The Cyberlink server has been very slow.

So far, PD12 SVRT works with all my cameras except the Canon 600D/Rebel T3i, and the Galaxy Note 4 cell phone camera. I wish PD13/PD14 at least supported all the cameras that work in PD12. And of course, it would be nice to see the T3i supported as well as the Note 4.
