Hi, I've just downloaded PD12 and I am having a problem with the Titles/Chapters Menu. It does not matter what "Highlight Button Style" I select, after I save the menu it the highlight button is always "RED".

Here is step by step to what I am doing:

In PD12 I go to the “Create Disc” tab.
“Menu Preferences”
select the thumbnail
“Modify”
“Titles/Chapters Menu”
“Set Button Properties” tab
“Button Highlight Style”
and select the style.
It does not matter what style I select, after I save the menu layout, it always goes back to the red highlight color. The style I select is
right but the color is always red. I've selected Green, White, Yellow, etc. but every time I save the menu it always show "RED" on the video.
Anyone else have this problem? I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,

Can't replicate with the sample menu I selected to modify. A dumb thought, are you re-applying your modified saved menu in the create disc module. PD does not do it automatically, you need to select your saved menu and apply.

Hi,
In the highlight style there is a box to select the highlight color near the bottom youu can use that to select the color. you ant then save as (newName) then when PD finishes saving you have to select the New Name template and apply to all, for it to take effect.

Yes, I am in the "Create Disc" module.
I have been using PD for nearly 10 years now and I have never had this trouble before. I've always created my own menus and had no problems with them.
The highlight that you are talking about "Jim" is to highlight the text or the arrow markers in front of the text.
The color that I am talking about is for the motion thumbnails. There is a whole selection of them on the tab "Button Highlight Style" on the "Titles/Chapters Menu" tab. These are the highlight buttons that highlights borders around the square motion thumbnail. It does not matter what color I click they all end up "RED" after I save my menu.
And yes, I do save the menu and then click on it and "Apply To All Pages" but it is still "RED". I've never seen this before.
I even completely uninstalled PD12 and reinstalled it again but it does the same thing.

One other little thing: When I am adding text, while creating a new menu my (.) (Period) button does not work. Like when adding a date, such as Dec. 12, 2012. The "Period" after Dec. does not work. When I press the (.) button it deletes text as if it were the backup button.

I know this is strange but I had no problems with PD11. Kinda wish I would have stayed with it.

Thanks,

Oh, yes, there. That looks like a bug. To get around the issue you could edit your created menus xml file. You do this with PD closed. Menus at
C:\Users\xx\Documents\CyberLink\Custom Menus\3.0
In the menu you are modifying (look at dates) in folder highlight and then the file std_highlight.xml

This color picker will help you get the right HEX code for your choice http://www.tizag.com/htmlT/htmlcolorchart.php

Look for FF0000 (red) and change.

Here I have modified to yellow, FFFF00

Jeff, Thank you for your help, but now I have to ask the dumb question:
How do I make the change? It will not allow me to type or change anything.
Thanks,

Simply edit the xml file in notepad. Right click on the xml file and open with > Notepad.

Thanks Jeff,

It worked.

Now if I could just type a (.) period in a text line.

Period problem sounds odd, any chance you are using a numeric keypad and setting of numlock, the period is often also a delete key, simply try the keyboard period with the ">" sign or use notepad to type a period and then copy and paste into PD Create Disc screen.

Jeff,
Thanks so much. I will give that a try. Right now I am in the middle of burning a video to a file on my PC. What I did for the (.) period was press "Alt 7" at the same time and got a "•" then made it a font 8 (as small as I could make it). It's up a little bit from where it should be but don't look too bad.
I will try your copy & paste idea and see if it works.
Again, thank you for your help.
