NewBluefx Essential Effect 4 prefix on effect names
[Post New]
Has anyone gotten these weird prefix effects names on NewBluefx essentials 4? here is one example IDS_DSP_Vi_NEWBLUE_Drop_Shadow - it makes it hard to discern when choosing an effect without having to hover over it.

See screenshot attached for example. I emailed NewBlue support.

Hi, Robert.

I use Newblue essential 4 and the effect names are good.

You should try to update it (My built: 130429)

Just got a really quick reply from Edward at NewBlue.
Here is the XML file attached for anyone experiencing the same issue.

Copy this file to:

C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared files\PlugIn\NewBlue

It fixed the crazy names in the Essentials 4 folder.

FYI: the latest update right now is Version 3.0 Build 130703

(To manually update- drag any of the NewBlueFx plugins into the timeline then
Double click on it & select "Information" and then "Check for Update" install the update
Do this for once for each folder- Essentials 1, Essentials 2, Essentials 4 and so on.)

Running Widows Vista 32 bit.

C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared files\PlugIn\NewBlue does not exist on my machine.

Also had problem installing VE 5. Another post said what to do but you can't update it. PD11 is not listed in the "Choose Componet Screen.

Report these problems to NewBlue over 48 hours ago - no response.

These products should not have been released for sale with these problems.

I agree, I had tried there excellent product Colorfast as a trial and the controls are all goofed up. And it looks so nice on other Video Editors... so I passed on purchasing Colorfast for PD11.

Primus,

Do you have the email address for Edward?

I went to the NewBlue website and clicked on "Support" and sent them an email to report problems. On most sites you get a confirmation email saying they got it.

I have not received anything for over 72 hours.

Hey John,

NewBlue, Inc.

Hopefully he can take care of you... although they might all be off till Tuesday because of the holiday.
And or maybe try the support link again since I imagine more people on their staff would get it, increasing the chance of a response.

Good luck!

Robert

Thanks Robert. I'll try and be patient!

I know the fix has to come from NewBlue but you would think Cyberlink would approve plugins before they would allow them being sold to PD11 users.

I've had the same problem with quite a few purchases from NewBlue with installation and the way the display the file names and used the fix above a few times now. They are not cheap packages so I wish they would get them right before releasing them. Just for you to know, Titler 2 pro from NewBlue wont work on PD.

Thanks Steve.

I think the only NewBlue "stuff" that works is the Essential Packages 1 thru 6 and THEY DON'T REALLY WORK.

I'll be a beta tester if they pay me!!! I am tired of spending a bunch of time working around their errors.

Their Chroma Key Pro doesn't even have a color picker!!!

Worthless.

If anyone buys these - join me in the idiot line - I am standing in the front!

Just an addition to the above fix for Essentials 4 (IV)
Here is my work around to keep things organized and not drive me crazy.

If you haven't already done so then you can:

Create your own folders and drag the appropriate plugin effects from the "Visual" folder into it.
Here is an example showing the NewBue Essentials package 5.
