Can 2 video clips be linked for editing?

I'm making a video of a person talking. There are 2 seperate clips, showing the person from different angles.

I can synch them on the timeline, but as soon as I edit one, the other will be out of synch, and I don't know how to synchronize the editing.

Thank you

In the settings, I believe it is a check box to link tracks. I'll have a look and see for sure if you don't find it. __________________________________

There are several methods. A bit confusing, but here's one...

  • First sync both tracks, with secondary camera on VIDEO 1 and main camera on VIDEO 2.

  • Lay down all shots (VIDEO 2 will be displayed). Tweak the audio, then lock the audio tracks.

  • Split VIDEO 2 where you want the secondary cam. on VIDEO 1 to cut in. Split again where you want it to cut out.

  • Right-click the area between the splits, on VIDEO 2, and "remove/leave gap."

  • Sync should be maintained. Video 1, the secondary camera, will be seen during all VIDEO 2 gaps.

If you want a dissolve, double-click VIDEO 2 and in the OPACITY field set a single key frame. SAVE.
On the time line, drag the VIDEO 2 levels (a green line) up/down for opacity and left/right to adjust the dissolve rate.
Key frames (dots) are created when the mouse is released. To delete one, right-click on its dot and remove it.

An alternative for a diss or other transition is to select both VIDEO 1 & 2 (hold down <ctrl> while clicking).
Split out a seqment and drag its VIDEO 1 to VIDEO 2. Choose "overwrite." Now add transitions as usual.

To further assist with borgus's excellent explanation - hopefully not complicate it - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/23173.page#152926

There's a screenshot showing some of the steps described above.

    Cheers - Tony
