Unable to preview library videos

Hi all. It's me (boongsong) again.
I just "fired-up" my new computer, HP h8-1280t, 10gb mem, 2tb hdd, Win 7 with Norton Internet security, and downloaded the trial of PD11.
Imported some YouTube video clips from my videos folder and started trimming. Got what I wanted and, after the trimming, found I had room for one more, which would take me to somewhere between 59 and 60 mins. I saved what I had.
At that point, I wanted to preview some of the clips in the library to find one short enough to fit. Here's where the problem is.
Then, when I click on a clip in the library, nothing happens. The preview window remains black and I get a Play arrow. When I click on the arrow, nothing.
Is this a "quirk" in the trial version or just me? Had no problems like this in PD10.
As always, looking for expert insight. Including dxdiag.

Disregard this. I just reopened PD11, imported my project and now can preview videos in library. Don't know why it wouldn't let me do it before.
Sorry for any inconvenience

Glad you got it to work. But I wonder why it did this in the first place. I have version 11 on my new Dell 32 Gig ram, W8 and it does the same thing. When I shut it down and reopen it works fine. But it keeps doing it on and off. I would still like someone input if possible... W10 on Dell Desktop, 64 bit, 32GB RAM, Intel(R)Core(TM) I5- 3350P CPU, 3.10 Ghz, 1 TB HD, free space - 200 GB

Hi Both,
Have either or both of you got an economy energy saving set up for your computer screen or disk drives?
I have passed the information onto CyberLink to see if there is anything more we need to know.

Hi Dafydd Bevan. I changed my power settings from Balanced to High Performance. That might have something to do with it - not sure.
Please let me know if you get anything from Cyberlink on this.
Appreciate your response. As always genuine, useable info. Jack

I decided to remove the Solved in the subject line. Possible there is an answer to the question still to come. Jack

I just switched to High performance and my project opened up much quicker than it normally does. I will let you now if pics disappear again after using for a bit....

Well it did the same thing again. I left the computer for a little bit came back and hit play and wasn't able to see any pics or videos but could hear the sound. The pics/videos were showing up in the timeline but not in the viewer. So I shut down the program and reopened it all and the pics/videos show up again. This is frustrating.....

Hi pab82. I don't have an answer, but I'm of the opinion that Cyberlink has to relook at PD 11. I had another freeze problem yesterday. Check the link.

I find it hard to believe we are the only ones experiencing these problems. I never had a problem with PD 10 (except for those caused by me)
Hopefully, someone will have an answer.

Yes I agree. I purchased the Holiday pack for $50 and have yet for the magic styles to work right at all!! I contacted customer service to no avail. I gave up on them getting it straight what I was trying to explain to them... So disappointing for what should be such awesome software... I posted two other items about freezing. One while editing audio and the other occurred this morning while trying to preview after producing a video. Each time, PD11 froze completely and I had to open the Task Manager to close it out.
I think Cyberlilnk has a problem with PD11 and they don't want to admit it or provide a fix.
I'm trying to see if I can install PD10 on my new computer. Hopefully.
Not sure any of the gurus have an answer for us either.
Keep your fingers crossed Jack

Hi Both,
Please can you screen capture the Edit Workspace (full screen) showing the Track and Library room issue? Not having experienced this particular issue does make it hard for us all to grasp what might be wrong.

Please provide a "normal" Edit Workspace shot , right now, maybe seeing it will also help.

I do not allow my computer or hard drives to go into any economy setting, not a good policy to do so when video editing.

Dafydd

Hi Daffydd Bevan.
I think this post should be considered solved, from my standpoint. It only happened once with me, so, I don't think I'll continue to pursue it unless it occurs again. As for the info you would like, I can't recreate it.
If you think I should mark this as solved, please let me know.
Thanks for your help

K will have to wait for it to happen but that shouldn't take long. It keeps happening to me every time I leave the computer idle for any length of time. I put the power plan on high performance and set the screen savers and all that not to come on any time the computer is plugged in, which is all the time since it's my desktop. So if there is any other settings I should check, someone will have to point that out to me. Thanks... Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?
Yesterday, I produced a video on PD10,using the same clips that I did in PD11, and it came out right. See my post here:
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/27134.page
Look at my last entry on that clip.
Because of that, I still feel the problem is in PD11. Today, I have downloaded PD10 in my new compute and will recreate the same video, using the original PD11 clips, and if all comes out right, then I will firmly believe that the problems you and I are experiencing are "transient glitches" in PD11.
Will update later on results.

No I really don't want to have to do that but I will if it starts doing it again. But now mine is not doing it either. I have tried numerous times to make it happen again and now it's not doing it. Maybe it was something going on with my computer yesterday interfering somehow....
