Hi,

I have Power Director 9 & 10 on my old computer and Power Director 11 on a new computer. Is there any way of copying or importing my text titles from my old versions across to the new PD 11 version.

Thanks,

If you downloaded the effects they should appear in the download folder of Title, Particle, PIP or Menus when you install Powerdirector 11.

Custom creations should appear in the Custom folder of the various types.
Aspect ratio is important also, 4:3 only appear if your project is 4:3, same is true for 16:9.

I found the downloaded effects for Powerdirector 11 Ultimate here on my computer:
C:\Users\Public\CyberLink\Downloaded Effects

I assume that if you copied your effects from the old computer to the new computer in this location, they should appear in the Download and custom folder of each effect.

I do not know for sure, I have never tried to copy from one computer to another.

I do have PD 9 and PD 11 on this computer, all of the downloaded effects show in both PD 9 and PD11. Not true for Custom effects, they show only in the version that created them.

Hi,
You can import by,
1. Locate My Documents/CyberLink/PowerDirector
2. For each version of PowerDirector there will be a folder,
9.0, 10.0 and 11.0.
3. Each will have content and the folder "My Titles" is the one you're after in each.
4. Creating and moving Titles to a similar location (9.0 10.0) where they don't currently exist, should in theory lead to the individual Titles displaying under PDr9, PDr10 and PDr10 in PowerDirector 11/Titles Room.
5. Alternatively you can move the custom/saved Titles directly into PDr11's folder BUT you must rename each folder. Example Title_000 could become "Any-001".

I haven't needed to move my Titles for a while now, experiment, they are transferable.

Thanks for that. Copying My Titles folder contents across to V11 works OK. In Title Room they appear in the Custom folder.

I had some titles from V8 with the same folder names so I just renamed them. e.g. the last title name in V11 was Title_008 so just rename V8 Title_008 to Title_009 etc and they all then appear in the Custom folder.

Hi Robert,
I suggest you rename the PDr8 Titles as shown or you'll find the next custom PDR11 may overwrite your imported ones.

Good to know the importation of the titles worked.

Couple of pointers, for the Newbie who posted on this thread.
1. Give yourself a name/pseudonym and don't leave it blank, posts without a name get deleted.
2. Rather than resurrect (known as hijacking) a 2+ year old thread (which has been answered for the Original Poster), you start a new topic and place it in the right forum. In your case it would be for PowerDirector 12.
