Is there a way to give the duration of the video for the animated thumbnails in the menus pages ? Up to now, I was using PD7, and this option was available through the configuration of the parameters for the "production" process (the button with the wrench on it). I cannot find such option in PD10. PowerDirector Ultra 10.0.0.1703

Are you asking how long the menu should show before the playing begins automatically? In that case, CubbyHouseFilms's suggestion should work.

If you are asking how long the loop is for a thumbnail, that is not (to my knowledge) adjustable. Jerry Schwartz

Jerrys, you are right. This loop duration was adjustable in my previous version of PD (PD7). The current value is 18 seconds, whatever is the value of the field pointed out by CubbyHouseFilms.
However, what is a little bit strange is that this loop duration is exactly the same value (18 seconds) that the default value for the "auto menu time out" duration.
Any idea ? PowerDirector Ultra 10.0.0.1703

Hi jyd44 -

In PD10, the duration of the thumbnail/music is adjustable (up to a maximum of 99 seconds, as Neil's screenshot says)

BUT - only in the Root Menu. The Chapters/Scenes Menu has a mind of its own

Cheers - Tony

Note to self - its doesn't have an apostrophe when it's indicating ownership.

Hi Tony,
From my own experiments with PD10, changing the value as Neils's screenshot says change only the duration of the music loop. My DVD menu is a derivation from the "2012 modele", with an background still image in all pages, and four buttons (thumbnails) into the chapter page. My DVD content is made of one title with four chapters.
In the root page, the duration of the video loop (part of chapter one) is always 18 seconds, whatever is the music duration set into the "Duration field". (tests made with different values: 18, 30, 60, 90 seconds) (another strange phenomena: the video loop does not start at the beginning of the chapter, neither at the position defined as the chapter thumbnail image).
In the chapter page, duration of the music and thumbnail is always 18 seconds. (and the video loop starts at the position defined as the chapter thumbnail image).
Any suggestion ?

Hi jyd44 -

You are absolutely correct. Sorry - wasn't trying to mislead you. The video loop does always switch at 18 seconds, even though the music is adjustable... in the Root Menu.

I'm afraid I have no suggestion about how to overcome this built-in "feature" of PD's menu structure.

Cheers - Tony
