I installed PD10 on Windows 8 and it works perfectly. I had a problem with activating the production codecs but Cyberlink came to the rescue and now it's all working perfectly. I will do some comparisons and see what performance is like. Intel Core i7 3770K 3.6 Ghz,
GTX 680, 2 X Benq23 3D monitors,
6G DDR3, Win 7 64, Win 10 (Insider) 64
PCIE SSD, Intel Sata SSD 2 500 Gbyte Seagate,
Minoru 3D WebCam, NVIDIA 3D Vision-Ready

I've had reports from editors that W8 is fine with PD10. Please let us know how you get on.

My 2 cents
Those who run AMD Octal core, there will a distinct advantage as Win8 is more compatible with AMD and AMD's performance inreases due to AMD's module based architecture.

PS:AMD FX 8150 (which I use now ) reduces rendering time much much greater than I6 2600 sandy bridge. This processor is video editor's delight.

Hi all,

PD 10 is working perfectly with Windows 8 at the moment. NVIDIA have produced a driver for my GTS-450 that is compatible with Windows 8 which helps a great deal I'm sure!

All renders and authoring thus far have been great.

Cheers,

Has anyone running Windows 8 and has a Intel sandy bridge cpu. Can you still use the Intel Quick Sync Video? Intel i7 5960X overclock to 4 Ghz 16 GB of ram.

ION Video 2 PC Mk 2 analog to digital USB converter does not work in Windows 8, regardless of which PD versionPD 8 comes with device and PD 10 was included on my computer. ION says they are working on drivers, but do not have any idea when it will be done.

What, if any, analog to video usb convertor works with Windows 8 and Power Director?

Thanks

Yes I can confirm that it works for me, however I had to update the drivers for the LucidLogix software. I use VirtuMVP and I some else here uses a different version of LucidLogix and could not get it running. Intel Core i7 3770K 3.6 Ghz,

"StarTech SVID2USB2 USB S-Video and Composite Video Capture Cable with Audio TV Tuners and Video Capture" from Amazon works fine with WIN 8.
