"YouCam could not start the dual video"
[Post New]
I get the message "YouCam could not start the dual video"
when I try to select the 2nd webcam.

Win 7 Home premium
Logitech 900 and 500
YouCam5 Trial

CyberLink's first response to my ticket was "Check to make sure your web-cams are working and not already in use."
Good advice but a bit too basic to help.

I've also tried it on my XP PC and get the same error when trying to invoke "dual Video".

VerySoft WebCam Splitter Pro works with two web-cams simultaneously with Skype, Adobe Connect, etc., so I'm confident that my web-cams are OK.

I tried HeavyMath Cam 3D today. It is anaglyph stereo photo software that uses two web-cams simultaneously. You can select different web-cams from within the software.

Cam 3D works fine with my Logitech cams and produces interesting anaglyph stereo videos. See attachments.

So my two cams are working OK.

My customer support inquiries are still open.

Has anyone else had this problem.

Thanks

I have two web cams both logitech 910 You cam will not let me load the dual cam software. While I cannot use both cameras at one time in other programs, but can use one at a time, You Cam is supposed to allow you to show two cameras side by side. Feature still does not work in the Deluxe and not even in the new patch .

Tejasmed,

Thanks for the reply.

I got this response on my last "ticket":

This is to inform you that I have escalated your concern with details to our Product & Development team for further analysis.

Does "Dual Video" work for anyone?

Anyone?

Thanks

Tyomni

It would be nice if you were helpful and tell us what system you are using and possibly any approach that might not be commonly known.
We both have an issue with a program that does not work for us. If it works for you...be polite and explain how you got it to work.

I'm getting the same error message with my software. I'm using two logitech webcams. The C910 and the C920. However, when I start the program, a separate box enabled "Logitech Control" pops up allowing me to adjust the properties of the C910. I'm wondering if this software is blocking the C920 from being used?

Just unplugged one of the logitech webcams, tried the duel video using the C920 and the built in webcam on the laptop, again, same error message.

So for some reason, Youcam not able to use two webcams, not related to using two logitech webcams.

Using Windows 7 64 Bit edition

One would think that I deserve a reply to a simple query about Dual Cams....

I'm a new customer (2012) but went the whole nine yards with the Ultimate suite. I bought YouCam5 separately. As a technical writer I need a high-end capture app for my C920 and QuickCam4 Pro.

As it turns out, YouCam is comically inadequate. Its advanced image editing feature, TrueTheatre, doesn't work at HD! And Dual Video doesn't work at all.

I'm pissed off and want my money back.

The last upgrade allowed me to use 2 x C920's, set up in Skype but on actual usage in skype it fails resulting in a scrambling around to get rid of YouCam and back on to a single Cam before the Skype Session can go on!

And as you say, a lot of fanfare about the product but actually clumsy and useless! Feel like the proverbial Fox-terrier chasing the car and now that I caught it... WTF?

Please post if you DO find something that works and supports full HD!

Regards
