I have problem with extremely slow encoding/burning process when using Power Director 10.
It takes more than 4-5 hours, sometimes more to make Blu-Ray Disc from AVI file, compare to Power Director 9 which took about 1.5-2 hours for movie of close to two hours duration.
My computer is:INTEL Quad Core 2.3 GHZ,Graphic:NVIDIA 9800 GTX 1GB,memory:4 GB,Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit etc.which i think is enough powerful and what i notice is that during encoding movie processor works on maximum which is little strange.
If i want to run some other application, even internet during encoding,it's impossible.
Also during burning Blu-Ray disc often comes some error so i need to encode movie to a file on my hard disc and than use other software to burn it to a disc.

Is there any solution to speed up this process? What can be wrong?

What is the resolution of your AVI files?

Blu-ray video is 1920x1080, if your AVI is not that size, Powerdirector must interpolate the video and that can take hours.
Depending on the original resolution and bit rate of the AVI file.

Blu-ray is also MPEG-2 OR H.264, file extension is usually m2ts.
If you start with a 1920x1080 m2ts high bit rate video, it takes much less time to create a Blu-Ray disk.

Using the Disk folder option is a very good idea. Saves burning up high price blu-ray disks.

AVI Files are in 90% of cases resolution 720 x 380,i am usually making Blu-Ray MPEG-2 video.
I didn't have this kind of problems with Power Director 9,using same AVI Files to burn same Blu-Ray disc and it takes less than two hours.
Power Director 10 gives better picture but i will be forced to switch back to Power director 9 because i can't wait forever to make one Blu-Ray disc.
I am very unhappy with this expensive piece of software.
For instance, other software called Medi Avatar Blu-Ray disc creator make Blu-Ray disc from same AVI Files for approx.2 hours and never make error when burning.
This error was not even solved with Power Director 9 and now with Power Director 10 saga continues.
Sad........
