After seeing several DVD menus on DZ like this, i just have to ask. How can you make a little "window" on the main tittle page that shows your video?
The link below has an example of what i mean.

Thanks!

ClancM--Isn't that the advantage of starting with a template? Use that DZ template and change everything, but the feature you like will still be there, adapted to your project?

rbowser,
That's good thinking, i could just change the background images. But I'm still curious if any users know how this is accomplished.

On a related topic, I wonder if someone could help me. I have just purchased Power Director 9 64bit, and I am able to use the basic functions OK. I am new to PD9, but not to video editing in general.
The problem I have is that I want to create a DVD Menu Template which has:

a) No chapter thumbnails on it and
b) Multiple Chapter thumbnails on the same page, and NOT separate pages for each chapter.

I have received the following response when I contacted Cyberlink Support, but the steps they suggest, don't seem to work.

Dear Rod,

Thank you for contacting CyberLink Technical Support.

I understand your concern related with creating DVD menus in PowerDirector 9.0 software.

In regards to your concern, Please follow the steps given below:

1) Open PowerDirector and import your files and do all the editings.
2) Click on Create disc to enter create disc section.
3) Click on "Content" tab at the upper left corner of the page.
4) Double click on the title/text appearing in the menu screen(My videos) and delete everything.
5) Click on "Menu preferences"=> Create Menu=> Set background image/video(first option in the upper left corner of the screen)=> Import desired image and apply to all pages.
6) Click on 'OK' and save it with a name.
7) Under "Menu preferences"=> Custom menu=> Here you will get your created menu with the file name saved earlier.
Select=> Apply and preview it.

Or you can select "No Menu".

To select the Multiple chapter thumbnail on the same page you will get maximum of 6 thumbnails per page.

Please feel free to contact us back for any further clarification or for any assistance related to CyberLink Products. Use the below mentioned link to get back to us for your further queries:

Dear Rod,
You would probably be better of making a new topic. But here's an answer any wya.

Go to the create disc page.
Under Menu Preferences click Create Menu
At the bottom of the window change it to the tittles/ chapters menu
On the left side pannel click the 3rd bottom on the top. The one with two small boxes one of which looks like a cloud.
Click the set button laytout button (the one with six boxes.)
Change the layout to eather 1 2 3 or 4 buttons

As for removing the thumbnail, there is really no way to do this.
What you can do, is resize or move the chapter thumbnail off screen or in a way that you can't see it.

Best of luck!
