SVRT on AVCHD from Sony HDR-CX130 not working

Hi

Trying to use AVCHD material from Sony HDR-CX130 in PD 9, i cant get it to accept files for SVRT.
Never mind which format I choose it says' Video rendering required'.

I am choosing PAL, 25 FPS, H.264 AVC and a profile that matches the recorded content (either 1440x1080 or 1920x1080, interlaced which matches the output from my sony camera). It doesnt matter what kind of profile I use, it will not recognize my video format. The files produced by camera are called xxxxx.MTS.

Example properties for file:
Type: H.264 AVC
Bitrate: 15.70 Mbps
Resolution: 1920x1080
Frame rate: 25 fps
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Profile: High profile

Different example:
Type: H.264 AVC
Bitrate: 9.85 Mbps
Resolution: 1440x1080
Frame rate: 25 fps
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Profile: High profile

I tried all the AVCHD recording formats from my camera with same result. Always the video would require rendering (sound is ok).

I also tried creating a custom profile, but not sure exactly what to choose to get it just right.
According to PD 9 material, Sony AVCHD should be supported. I dont know if the probalm is due to PAL maybe, since most in this forum are using NTSC (I need European format).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I don't have a test sample of the "Sony HDR-CX130". Please provide both samples (you've quoted) - 5 to 10 seconds in length, unedited and attach both to your next post please. members will then be able to assist you and examine the file samples you provide. Giving "hands on" help to you.

I'm currently downloading the files.
Please could you add your camera details to: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/15675.page
and instead of supplying a sample, link to this thread's samples. .

Hi Dafydd

I have created a post on the thread mentioned, with links to specs as well as the two samples
I hope someone will be able to help me get this SVRT issue solved.
It was one of the main reasons for buying this particular product (and the 64 bit ultra version at that). Windows Vista 32-bit

Hi,

Your camera is part of the 2011 Sony range of cameras. None of the 2011 range are compatible with SVRT, unlike the 2010 range and earlier which are.

I have provided Cyberlink with sample files from my HDR-CX360 which I HOPE will mean that when the next patch appears the footage will be SVRT compatible.

Thanks for the clips - sorry this is not the news you wanted but it is a known feature of the 2011 range.

Cheers,

I believe that the CX150 is from the 2010 range, hence it works with SVRT.

The 2011 range have the ability to shoot in 50p at 28mbps as well as 25p and 50i at 24 and 17mbps (in PAL land).

I'm guessing this is why it's not SVRT compatible at the moment.

Plus the progressive shooting is native progressive, unlike the Canons.

Cheers,

I purchased the PD9 Ultra for it review of SVRT. But interestingly it uses SVRT fine if all the AVCHD clips are untouched. If I insert even a single transition between two clips, the rest of the movie renders without SVRT. So if you have 5 minutes of total movie length and insert a transition after 1 minute for 2 seconds, the movie starting from 00:01:02:00 will render very slow and will not use SVRT. Interesting !

Sorry to say, but response from support was: yes you are right it doesn't work with the new lines of sony cameras, and no we dont have any plans for it either.

Total let down, and frankly bordering on misleading advertising.

Confirmed! SVRT is compatible with 25p/50i footage that is 24mbps or lower with the new Sony 2011 camera range after installing the 3305 patch!
