So I just purchased powerdvd 10 mark ii ultra edition yesterday. I installed the player, activated the serial then applied the latest bd patch. When I start up powerdvd 10 the black box appears and I even get the little patch box in the lower portion of the screen saying to try some12 in 1 suite. Then a Windows pop up says " a problem has caused this program to stop running" and then closes. The message also tells me Windows will let me know if it finds a solution.

I have successfully ran a previous version of powered but it played hd-dvd's and blu-ray.
Pc specs are Windows Vista 64 bit edition all service packs installed and updates, And x3 phenom II @ 2.6 ghz, 4 gb Ddr2, ATI 46xx 1gb box card ( 11.3), Ht omega striker sound card( latest driver).

Any help or ideas would be great.

So I uninstalled everything cyberlink and powerdvd, restarted, then reinstalled powerdvd 10 and I still get the program crashing upon double clicking the icon. Not only did i get powerdvd closed but this time also got the CLupdater stopped working after powerdvd 10 closed.

Okay, I was able to get my issue resolved. I have an on board ATI HD 2400 graphic interface with ATI HDMI HD Sound and Realtek sound for the analog and TosLink interfaces. My graphic card is a ATI HD5450 using the WDM HDSound drivers. When I have my onboard graphics disabled by the MOBO bios and use solely the HD 5450, PowerDVD crashes. If I enable the onboard graphics bios settings and audio and use the HD5450 HDMI as my default sound device, PowerDVD loads fine...strange but true... that puts a on my face!

Tyson7890...you may want to fiddle with you sound drivers as I have seen postings that the RTLCPAPI.dll error is related to sound card incompatibilities....good luck.

more info...I have pinned down the device that is causing the crash. If I disable the Realtek sound device that is driving the onboard analog and SPDIF (actaully a TosLink). PDVD crashes. If I enable the Realtek onboard sound device and as well as teh HD5450, but disable the on board HD4250 device and the Realtek HD sound device, PowerDVD loads fine. So the issue appears to be with the RealTek optical and and analog drivers...very weird....sounds like a bug to me. I have attached teh DXDIAG listng if it is a help....keep in mind the Realtek Digital Output(Optical) and the HD 5450 are the only devices that are enabled when I ran DXDIAG.
