Hi,

I've just built a HTPC with a ATI Radeon 5450 graphics card in it and am considering investing in a surround sound system to capitalise on Blu-ray's 7.1 audio.

My question is, does PowerDVD8 support 7.1 Dolby TrueHD via the ATI Radeon 5450 HDMI output?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Michael - but I'm confused...

http://www.power-dvd.biz/comparison.html

This website says that Dolby TrueHD is supported.

Am I misunderstanding something? Is it that its not sent through HDMI and needs to go through S/pdif?

Hi,

Yes PowerDVD 8 supports decoding - but not bitstreaming of HD audio formats through HDMI.

HD Audio formats can only me bitstreamed via HDMI and not via S/PDIF which is supportedin PowerDVD 10
