Hi zombietom,
Thank you for your question.
There hasn't been a beta version numbered 2408, only prior numbered beta test patch builds (for editors to try out). You should download and install the full latest patch and it will overwrite any previous program data.

For everyone: Updating PDR13 to the latest build, you only have to download and install the last official patch and NOT every released prior patch.

I installed 2408 (from 2307) and when I opened PD 13 after the upgrade there is now no audio. Adjust volume has a line thought it (see attached) and clicking on it sometime will remove the line however there is no audio. Any suggestions?

Graham.

I have been working on this issue for 2 days and went through just about all the options available and just after I posted this above, I decided to poke around more. In a new project, I clicked on the Playback tab and clicked on "Mute/Mute Off" and the Adjust volume line was removed and this time I do have audio. I closed the project, opened an old project and audio is now available in that one too.

CL at PD13 patch v2307 claimed "•Supports hardware encoding with NVIDIA Kepler or newer graphics cards", in addition to all the potential issues highlighted in the PDF here, http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/25/41925.page ,it appears at patch v2408 hardware encoding with NVIDA Kepler does not work in the "Create Disk" module when creating BD's. Attached figure of results clearly shows the effect. The "Enable hardware video encoder" option is available and selectable, it just does not really utilize the GPU as would be intended.

Observation: When the GTX650(Kepler) is utilized during encoding in the "Create Disc" module for BD creation, no GPU load and no reduction in encode times for certain profiles. When the GTX650(Kepler) is utilized during encoding in the "Produce" module with the same format profiles, significant load on GPU and significant reduction in elapsed times.

Conclusion, PD13 v2408 lacks proper hardware encoding implementation in the "Create Disc" module for the two cases highlighted in red in the attached figure.

To keep things simple to show the issue, the timeline consisted of 30min of Boats.wmv so 100% encoding would need to be done when creating a playable BD.

Since we are at "complains", if I try to render anything under "online" tab, I have the "Hardware video encoder" greyed out. Youtube, Vimeo, all of them, regardless or resolution.

I have to produce the video under the "2D" tab, where I have the HA available for mp4 up to 1080p.

Is not your issue a real limitation? I believe the 7 profiles available under like Youtube are Windows Media profiles and as such are not Nvidia hardware encoding capable so the selection should be greyed out as PD does do.

Should PD supply more profile options in the "Online" tab, maybe, but that's a different topic.

Thanks Jeff. I have passed your observation and image onto CyberLink for them to test and maybe come back to me with a reply.

Jeff, actually never tried them. Google/Youtube recommends mp4 as format to upload.
Now that you said so, it makes sense to me to be WMP, because that does not require licensing and they can go around the mp4 licensing issue that way (Youtube user agreement requires proper licenses for the uploaded containers).

Continues here, Intelligent SVRT this very slow making it impossible to use to check or create custom profile for large projects.

Works "normal" only for small projects.

Someone else has this problem? AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

Preview very unstable. Lagging, going black, pixelation – even on 10 sec mp4 clip.
Also, now it seems it is taking a long time before media gets imported to media room;
6-12 seconds for a couple of small png’s or a 12 sec mp4 clip.....?

Just something.

Hei!
I am new to this and I tried editing a video file encoded with X264 just to try out.
The video is fine but at a few places there is pixelating (in the preview as well as in the final output)
(it appears that at those places the previous frames are still being seen)
any suggestions

Is this build (PowerDirector_2408_GM4_Trial_Trial_VDE141215-02) available in retail?

Previous retail build (1_CyberLink_PowerDirector13_Ultra_VDE140912-01) has some issues.

There should be a way to download the latest retail builds for customers who already own CyberLink products.

Yes, did you open the program and did it give you the option to update? It should have unless you shut it off.

There are no updates for trial software; there may be the latest build as the newest update for the trial software (what you don;tload today is the latest).

Did you go here? http://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdirector-ultra/patches_en_AU.html

Also go to the top of this page and click on downloads. One of the options is "Software Updates" Go there for updates if thew program doesn;t offer the update.

Did that help? .

I'm still experiencing the excessive hang/import time on cropping an image. I actually slide the import dialogue box to the side and continue to edit. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
