For the people who understand the English language better then Dutch,
the error code in English.

I hope now that the specialist on this forum has a solution for my problem.
I am using PD19, and now I run into the following error.

I got File error 2, when I want to import a file (MP4).

This also happened when I want to import the sample files from PD19 (Mp4)

This problem occurred when it all works fine the day before.

There was no update from Win10, no new software on my computer, so it is a complete riddle for me.

I have tried to install PD complete new on my system that works for a day and then the problem occurred.

I don’t know where to look anymore. I have read from some other users, but that was with Mov files.

My excuse for my bad English, but it is not my native language.
I don't know. I have done the update so I cannot do that again.
In the configuration of PD on my computer is G:\Cyberlink Powerdirector\export\shadowEditfiles the standard directorie for the shadowfiles (All the PD files on a seperate drive)
There is indeed a directorie C: \ Users \ [user account name] \ Documents \ CyberLink \ PowerDirector \ 16.0 \ but that one is empty on my PC.
I have always used a directorie on my G drive: G:\Powerdirector\shadowfiles. and after the update all the shadowfiles are gone.
PD 16 has rebuild those file, but it is very strange that after an update these files are deleted.
I have done the update 2816, and again, all my shadow files are gone, missing, deleted!!!!!.
PD16 has to rebuild them again.
The files in the folder:

C:\Users\[user account name]\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\16.0

where deleted!

Hello Tomasc,

I am not using an external drive.
The G drive is an internal drive, and is always connected when I start up my computer.
But thanks for thinking about my problem.

Klavertje
Hi Tony,

The shadowfiles are located in

G:\Cyberlink Powerdirector\Export\shadowEditfiles.

I am using a separate drive for PD.

I agree with you that it sounds unbelievable, but after elimination of the things that are happened on my computer,
I am pretty sure that the shadowfiles are deleted after an update.
I had this “event” before, and also after an update of PD.

There are no other changes on my computer that can cause this strange behaviour.
And I didn’t delete the files myself, and I cannot think of other software the cleanse the directory ShadowEditfiles.

It is strange, I know.

I am using PD 16. When I update to a new build, the shadow files were deleted.
I had this issue when I did the update to 2313, and now whit the update 2524 I have the same problem.
Not a big problem, PD has to build the shadow files again, but it is not correct I think.

How can I prevent PD to delete the shadow files when I update the program.
I had make a copie of the shadow files, but PD did not recognised the files, and build the shadowsfiles again.

Thanks

(Sorry for my poor english, but it isnot my native language)
The same here...the complete project is upside down. Closing the project and reopen the same project did the trick, and everything is normal again.
It causes an little shock by me...what hapening here...Very strange.
I know this problem..and the solution is very simple.

Delete the content in the directorie ShadowEditfiles, pd will now build a new shadow file.

Problem solved, I think, anyway in my case was this the solution.
Hi Dafydd,

That is a quick response from CL.

Thanks!
Hi Jeff,

Again to quick with my reply. Sorry!

The only file that causes increasing the C drive (original folder) in the link file it self. Within this file the message how many space I have on the new drive (folder), how many files and so on.

The shadow files are only an image of the original on the G drive.

So you don't have to check anything, it works!

Thanks again for you're help, and sorry for my english: it is not my native language.

And I shall inform CL (and ask) that they fixed this issue in the next update

Danny
Hi Jeff,

The space on the C drive is increasing!

When I delete the file in the original folder, it also deletes the file on the G drive.

Danny
Jeff,

I was to quick with my answer that it works.

I now got a Shadoweditfile in the new folder, but also in the original one.

What is the solution to solve this problem

Danny
Thanks Jeff,

It works!
Tony, I have noticed to that earlier versions where more flexibel where to put the shadoweditfiles.

Cyberlink has removed this option in PD15 indeed.

Tomasc, I only want the shadoweditfiles on an other harddrive, not the complete documents folder.

Maybe there is someone who has a sollution for this (small) problem
How can I force PD 15 to store the ShadowEditFiles in a different directorie?

Now PD 15 stores them all in Users\documents\Powerdirector\15 and I don't want them there, because I am using an SSD drive.

In PD 14 there was a choise in the preferences menu, in PD 15 I can't find it.

Is there somewhere an hidden option, or can I change someting in the register?

Thanks.
I have the same problem here.

It happend not in Pd13 and now I have upgraded to 14 the reversed video is glitchy

Is there a good and solid sollution already, or.......

Danny van Klaveren
I have seen it now.
