Hello again !

I am back
PD was not editing MP4 files. I had reported this and left this forum in frustration as support from CL was dismal.
I finally found a permanent solution
Here is what I did
I downloaded the latest decoding filters FFDshow,and installed; Presto !

PD7 gleefully accepted my MP4 files and played them
