Great stuff with an update in the works. Would it be possible to issue a list of which minor bugs that are being addressed?

@Charles
Because you product key is now in the open it will be pirated and therefore blacklisted by CyberLink. You'll need a new one and should keep it secret for your own sake.
I don't understand what 'SYSTEM CUT OFF' means. If you have problems with your internet connection, fix them *before* activating PowerDVD.

Hi Peter,

unfortunately we can not list all the minor bugs, because the most of them are related to the highlighted major bugs in the release note.
Publishing this minor bugs confusing, that's why we've decided not to list them.

Thank you for your concern.

Greetings
Hicham

Hicham,

Please supply all the version numbers so beta testers can know the install is ok. Full version numbers for PowerDVD, SR, TR.

Bug reports assuming the install went OK and I have the correct build numbers:

  1. Cyberlink continues to not have fixed the massive subtitle problem when running 4K displays at high DPI ranges such as 300 % larger which Windows 10 will default too in high DPI scenarios. Your support ticket system has proved to be useless on this, saying that the problem has been passed to engineers. Your engineers have allowed months on months to go by without fixes. I reported this in previous betas. No fix. I reported in previous prod release your company made. No fix. Now with this current beta, no fix. As I have explaned many times in the past this bug is entirely repeatable. It occurs on playing back video that is not bluray or DVD disc based, such as MKV or MP4 or AVI. Anything with a sub title stream that isnt disc based.

  2. Cyberlink continues to demonstrate their incompetence in providing software that can actually do video deinterlacing. From the years ago I reported this all the way back in PDVD 10, years on years later, deinterlacing continues to be an epic failure. I would have thought sheer embarrassment from the fact that the free software players all do this 100% fine was enough to get this fixed, yet again in this beta, there is no working deinterlacing. It doesnt work regardless of settings in either TFF or BFF.

And still no fix for the 3D Playback not working issue in PDVD Cinema Mode on systems with NVidia Graphics Cards.

Very Dissappointing.

Still no update for blu-ray playback using Ultra Wide 21:9 monitors either...

I know the problem is about the Blu-ray copy protection, but there are a few other media playback suites around that can get past it, so why cant the more expensive and proclaimed best media playback software do it?

Ultra wide monitors are not new anymore, they’ve been around over a year now, and becoming very popular with professionals and gamers, so why isn’t this problem being addressed?

The 21:9 aspect ratio is perfect for most modern movies at 2:35 or 2:40 aspect ratio , but we have to watch them with large boarders at the sides and top, although the aspect ratio should fill the screen perfectly on 21:9 monitors..

There’s a 2:35 aspect zoom selection but doesn’t work with blu-rays and Nvidia cards, so pointless.

When will the patch be out of beta and become an official update?

Thanks.

Hi Suda,

That's odd. I have a fairly humble HTPC with an AMD A10-7800 and it works like a charm, at least on windows 8.1.

Only real annoyance with PowerDVD is that the refresh-rate is not changed on my TV if the movie is a file (MKV, AVI etc.). I find that strange, and it should be an extremely simple fix for Cyberlink to implement. Perhaps in PDVD 17 new 'feature' ;
