I am working with h265 files and in PD13 it used to work fine. Now with 14 its hangs every little while and its so annoying.

Event viewer show sthis:

The program PDR.exe version 14.0.2019.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. Process ID: 264c Start Time: 01d0f960ca22f4e5 Termination Time: 580 Application Path: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector14\PDR.exe Report Id: ce592bd8-6556-11e5-ab95-8d2afe3f0953

Any ideas?

Its on a laptop running Intel 5500 and AMD firepro graphics.

As stated in the *Welcome* sticky, it's important that you run the DxDiag test and post the results here.

There's no way for anyone to know what's going on with your system without those critical technical details, and we'd need to see them before we can give you any advice on what might be happening and what steps you can try to resolve them.

Have you tried to reinstall the PD yet? It used to work for me when I did that. And I prefer to compress and trasncode H.265 to H.264 and then add into PD for editing.

I am still having hanging issue when editing h265 off external dirve. It happens when i quickly play or pause or switch videos. Not during anything else.

I transcoded the files to h264 and finished my project, but i bought pd14 to use native files from my nx1... pd13 was working fine.

The best way to assist you is to provide the details that were requested in my last post. Any number of things can be causing a slowdown, especially if you're using an external drive.

Please run the DxDiag tool (Part B in the linked thread) with your external drive attached and we'll see what might be going on

I've attached the dixdiag log file but don't see how it can help.

Laptop has two graphcis cards but the AMD drivers won't let me choose the AMD card for PD14. It defaults to powersaving mode (HD 5500) It is based of the executable file name, pdr13.exe i was able ot choose the AMD, but for pdr.exe i'm stuck with intel.

The hanging only happens when editing h265 files.

Well, the file and your description provide a lot more info than we had on the forum before. Your AMD card doesn't even appear in the DxDiag results. Is it enabled in Device Manager?

Also, your Intel graphics driver is 8 months old, and it would probably help to visit their website and update it.

There are also several threads on the forum about problems with the most recent Catalyst drivers. I have nVidia cards and I'm not keeping up, but I imagine you'll find at least some of the answers there

Any luck figuring this out? I have the exact same issue. The PDR.EXE file is locked in power saving mode. I have searched every forum and found nothing.
