[Post New]
Hi All,

it there a way to make a time counter overlay which displays real time ie continues to count, not static?
Thanks

Hi pjc,

That got me thinking - I've had a play with this timecode generator:-

http://www.2writers.com/download.htm

but the resulting .avi plays OK, but I can't get PD to import it so it might be useless.

Don't know if that's the sort of thing you want??

Cheers

pjc

I've used these before in PD, they worked very good for my needs

They have both PAL and NTSC in 1 Min, 20min, and 60min version downloads. Just drop it in the PIP track and you have continuous digital timecode.

Thanks Adrian and Jeff,

I tried both suggestions and the 2writers time generator suits my needs perfectly.

Thanks for the help.

Hi, I'm using PowerDirector 9...

When using tc_25fps_20mins avi or mpeg I get Unsupported Format.

The tc_29.97fps_df_20min.mov works but that's designed for the US market I assume.

In the UK we use a colon rather that semicolon so it just looks wrong.

Any ideas why it's not working?

Thanks

Just tested the .avi, yes, same problem for me with PD9 - probably to do with either the .avi or the aspect ratio. I converted it to .wmv with Format Factory and that imported fine. probably the quickest workaround?

How did you convert it? I don't have any other software at work to do that

Are you able to send it to me?

Trying the software. The result I got went from a 19.2mb file to 168mb! The playback quality was actually better than the original for some reason.

I tried converting it again keeping the dimensions the same and got a 31mb file but the quality was aweful.

So how do I convert, having the best quality but without having a massive file?

(I kept it in mpg format btw)

The timers are great but I am working on filming and adding the clocks for 40 yard dashes. The clocks increment a second at 4.29. I wonder how I can get a clock to go to 4.99 before incrementing like a digital stop watch.

I tried a Stop Watch software, it counts in hundredths of a second.

This video is a screen Capture.
