but the resulting .avi plays OK, but I can't get PD to import it so it might be useless.

I've used these before in PD, they worked very good for my needs
http://www.mediacollege.com/downloads/video/timecode/ They have both PAL and NTSC in 1 Min, 20min, and 60min version downloads. Just drop it in the PIP track and you have continuous digital timecode.

Just tested the .avi, yes, same problem for me with PD9 - probably to do with either the .avi or the aspect ratio. I converted it to .wmv with Format Factory and that imported fine. probably the quickest workaround?

The timers are great but I am working on filming and adding the clocks for 40 yard dashes. The clocks increment a second at 4.29. I wonder how I can get a clock to go to 4.99 before incrementing like a digital stop watch.
