As a leftie (as opposed to Lefty), I often take my photos/videos upside down. I just keep forgetting. In WMP and MPC, they play correct side up, but when dragged into PD, they are upside down and require flipping. I do not think there is a work-around, so I must REMEMBER, but this is a warning to my left-handed brothers and sisters to keep this in mind. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Hi Barry,

Some cameras have a 'rotate/invert image' setting while filming for lefties!
FYI If you let others borrow your equipment they might flip out and say all their footage is upside down later!

Barry,

Why not put a piece of tape to indicate the top of the image. That way you would be reminded to hold the phone with the tape on top.

Maybe a dab of red nail polish instead of tape. A small dot would not be noticeable by anyone but you.

I thought this was a joke at first, but I find it is yet again more evidence of the plight of Non-Right-Handed people (some might say "wrong-handed", but I won't). The nail polish is a great idea (and so 1950s! love it) and I wonder to myself, "Self, why are cameras on the phones not right in the middle?" then my self answers to myself, "Because the majority of them are designed and produced in Asia, where left-handedness has a much larger and harsher stigma". Thanks, Self. I can go to sleep now.

Don't the phones has a gyroscope in them that detects it is upside down? I see people all the time with the pictures correcting themselves...

You have my sympathy for your upside-down pics'n'vids anyway

Can you picture the scene.... Barry queuing up at the cosmetic counter and asking for red nail polish. Just wait till his Carpentry fellows hear of that!

Great ideas folks.

Seems a pity to spoil the camera, but a great idea.

Perhaps a bit of lateral thinking? and it would be soooo much more artistic, dahling, if you used the crimson nail polish on your left finger nails to signify "NO!, not this way, use the other hand".

Doesn't spoil the camera, easily removed, loads of great designs (so I'm told) http://nailartgallery.nailsmag.com/photos/tag/25859/red-and-white

and think of the effect on your social life and public profile.

Definitely worth thinking about ?? Post a few pictures? Perhaps not.

Cheers

This is bizarre reading….
You guys seem to know a lot about “nail polish”.
What is nail polish?
And what is it that you guys usually use it for?

Just something.

Dearest Barry,

I am newer here, but I think that we are all speaking of the situation euphemistically - trying to make the situation less stressful by making light of it - I think some of us may have taken license to do so due to the fact that it was not something extremely 'dark/serious', as in, some sort of cardiomyopathy; therefore, we felt it wasn't mean or hurtful to exercise some slight jest.

I may be uncourtly to be speaking for more than myself, but I don't think that anyone here meant to judge you or make light of your dexterous dispositions, to be sure.

The nice thing about using Finger Nail Polish, it can be easily removed with Nail Polish Remover.
Nail Polish is waterproof.
Plus you have a wide range of colors to choose.

Ask your Wife or Girlfriend how she deals with Nail Polish.

I use Nail Polish for marking many things, including wire color coding.

Technically speaking, I have neither wife nor girlfriend, so I'm afraid I will be at a loss here, although I have in the past had one or the other (never both), but I do have 3 daughters so I have learnt to recognise the smell of nail polish remover. The old fashioned sort was better, it made you a bit "creative" but gave you a serious headache.

You are not supposed to get high taking off nail polish!

With three girls, I can see all three working on their nails at the same time. That would be a lot of polish remover.

Old fashioned lighter fluid works to remove Nail Polish also. The kind used in Zippo Lighters.
