Lots of audio sync issues with importing media center WTV files. Audio is not even close...every one I've every converted has substantial out-of-synch problems. This is in PD8 video, before it uploads to youtube so it's not a YT issue.

Actually, it in the converted source file before you start editing, so really it's just a conversion issue, not a PD8 editing or producing problem.

This is typical:

I do not know if this is any help.
Microsoft has a utility to convert .WTV into .dvr-ms

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb188788.aspx

.dvr-ms file can be further converted to plain old mpeg2 file with several utilities.

There is also alot of detail about the .WTV file (may be too much information).

Of course push come to shove, you can separate the sound and video and sync the sound that way.

Hi Carl.

Yes, in Win7 you can just right-click on the WTV file to convert to .dvr-ms. No utility needed, but doesn't seem to help.

Of course you're right on the last item, I should separate the audio and let 'er rip and see what happens.

Just remember you may have to insert a Color board to make the Video track move right, in order to get the audio track to start before the Video.

It looks like the video is ahead of the audio. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Well, stripping audio off the audio to separate track yields video that has no audio. Another bug.

Tried it with full clips, short clips, dvr-ms converted source.

It just gets worse the more workarounds you try. Win8 64-bit Pro Retail

OnTheWeb.

Not a bug.

If you have done it correctly, you right click the Video in the library, and extract the audio.

It does strip the audio from the video.
Which is what you want to do.

You get the audio in a WAV file that you place in the Music Track.

Once the audio is in the Music track, you can move it relative to the Main video.

If you need more time in front of the video, just place a Color Board and adjust the duration. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.
