Biography: 42 years ago I got my Super8 silent cine camera and realised that cost was a big limiter on my ability to progress. Especially the cost of film. I spent nearly half a year's salary on state-of-the-art VHS kit which I paid for by doing wedding videos. Editing was a nightmare and the limitations on quality when dubbing encouraged in-camera editing as far as possible. I have stayed too far away from the bleeding edge of new tech and am now struggling to catch up: Image quality is breathtaking and previous limitations of battery life, stock cost, and editing quality loss just no longer apply. So now I am re-learning from scratch whilst trying not to get too tempted by all the toys on offer in modern software that distract from real storytelling. I am looking forward to learning from others and will try hard to make constructive suggestions when commenting on the work of others. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. (Thank Goodness!)
