is it possible to take a "snapshot" within a video project and convert the ext to jpeg therefore allowing it to be used in a WORD project?
Thank you.

Power Director 7 saves its snapshots as .bmp files. Word should be able to work with those without converting to jpeg.

Hi Mary,

Robert is absolutely correct in saying that you can take a Snapshot in a bmp file type, as it happens to be the default setting in PD. You take the picture using the button directly under the Preview Screen (White Rectangle with a white Border), then select "take a snapshot."

If there is a reason that you just have to have a jpg, you can change that in your PowerDirector preferences. Select the Directors Chair > EDIT>PREFERENCES, then notice "snapshot file name"...you can select additional file types that it saves in...bmp, jpg, GIF or png.

I hope this helps expand the information that Robert gave you. I just thought I would add to it.

One more question: how do I get the snapshot.bmp/jpg out of the power director project with the .pds ext? I'm having trouble exporting just the snapshot.

Hi Mary,

When you click on "Take a Snapshot", it will be saved in the default target "output" folder, which is probably in "My Documents" folder. This can be changed on the same page in the preference settings. I have included a screen shot showing where to change the folder default settings if you wished to change them.

Keep those questions coming!

I love PD 7 but it appears that lots of folks have problems with saving snapshots to print or save to an SD card, could programmers make it way more simple, the solutions are somewhat complicated for such a simple process
