Selecting multiple tracks

I am currently working on a video in PowerDirector 16 that includes one video track and two effects tracks. Since the video is two hours long, I want to break it up into smaller pieces. I can go to my starting point and select a clip and then go to my ending point and press Shift and click. This selects all the video clips I want. However, if I then try to do the same thing with the effects clips, it unselects my video clip selections. Is there any way to make a selection of video clips and effect clips on different tracks?

I have attached a screenshot to give you an idea of what I am talking about.

Sincerely,

Darin

Nothing really wrong with a 2hr video. Being 2hrs does not require any need to split into smaller pieces.

You could use the mouse rectangular selection feature to simply mark out a selecting box with left mouse button around clips and Fx's on the timeline.

You could use the orange range markers on the side of the timeline scrubber and mark off region of interest.

Both approaches would allow you to copy and paste the selection into a new project. Another option is to just copy your pds file with windows explorer and then edit each one and remove stuff so each pds reflects your new piece of the timeline.

Thanks for your reply. In my case, the clients have a limited amount of time to watch videos and scrubbing through a two hour video to look for a specific topic would be more discouraging than looking at a list of links with the topics listed.
