Probably depends how your camera handled dual mono mics. Not sure what you mean by a single waveform, PD will only display 1 combined waveform for mono, stereo, or 5.1. More than likely the camera at least recorded stereo for 2 channels, L and R waveforms. Unsure if camera model would keep say input 1 as L and input 2 as right or if camera muxed both together as single audio stream. If muxed together, probably little one can do, if L and R, one could adjust each channel independently.

I should have perhaps said "one combined waveform". However on opening the Audio Editor it reveals separate waveforms, one from each mic. which can be edited so I think that solves mt problem. Thanks for coming back. Phil.
