blu ray suite came with my lg uh08ls10 & am using powerdvd 7.3.4617.0 to watch standard & blu ray movies fine, when i try to apply the update offered, powerdvd won't play movies any longerso i had to uninstall everything & reinstall ugh. i'm sure this update is for blu ray content etc but all the movies i've tried so far, play fine and this update corrupts powerdvd somehow. is there a workaround for this update? i turned off my a/v before installing, didn't matter. update is .5711......DVD090831-03.exe

so got star trek 2009 blu ray & powerdvd 7.3 won't play it as it wants to download the content update .5711 mentioned above, downloaded it & now of course, blu ray or standard dvd won't play in powerdvd at all ugh. why does this happen?? emailed tech support & all they did was repeat my ? back to me with no help whatsoever. i think i'm gonna dump this & go with totaltheater3. i'm sick of trying to find workarounds for products that only want more $$!!! i'm not going to upgrade to v9, i want what i have to work like it's supposed to. funny how a stand alone blu ray or dvd player never needs constant ccrs updates etc to play movies. I normally don't support flame posts, but this is very true. That program worked easily for me where powerdvd has failed miserably with incorrect file formats and all sorts of crap...

GJ CyberLink, maybe you can learn something from a free program like this
