Ok I have been workin on power director every day and it has been running fine after installing PowerDirector 8 (v2220). The last few days it has been shutting down and freezing alot. Today everytime I click on the text box to add text to my project it feezes and I have to manually shut it down.

The specs are as follows

1)The computer is a Dell Precision M6400 Intel core 2 duo 2.34 GHz 4096MB RAM and a Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M video card.

2) The video file type is an AVCHD 1080i format

Any help would be of great assitance

Ok I solved problem I. Well I didn’t solve it but if you let it sit for about ten minutes it will load. Now I have another major issue I cannot burn it to a disk. I have tried to burn it in every format and I keep getting different error messages or the program shuts down. I am beyond frustrated with this program. I followed all the steps and produced it first then attempted to burn.
The first error was an actually error I cant recall the number
The second -fifth time it said unable to burn unidentified error
The six -eight time it said not enough storage to support (although there is plenty of room my movie is 1.2 gb and my dvd will hold 4gb
The ninth - eleventh time it shut down

I have changed the formats and done tons of things to it but still no luck. This is a work project and it has to be turned in by Tuesday any help solving this would be great

I have Microsoft 93
And Roxio

How would I disable GPU encoding??

Thank you

Ok i disabled the GPU acceleration, the enable preview during production was disabled. The hardware video encoder was disabled and I was not able to change that option. I tried again to burn the video, first I produced it then when I click create a disk it begins to load and then freezes at 78% if i leave the computer for ten minutes it resumes and loads the burning phase. When I attempted to burn it this time it burned to 99% and then said burning error - burn unsuccessful not enough storage

I removed Roxio and attempted to burn again and it still had the same error. Burn unsuccessful - not enough storage to compete operation

What format would you suggest I produce it in? I am not very computer savvy so when you say produce it in another format do you mean. When in the production phase change it from say an AVI to WMV or a MPEG-2. If so I have tried the AVI, MPEG-2, AVC WMV, and MOV. If this is not what you mean could you explain the process to change the format and bit rate.

I will attempt step two and see if that works

Ok I was able to complete step two. But when I go to open the file it has two seperate folders one for Audio and one for Video. There are no files in Audio, in video it has six files but when I try to open them they say that microsoft can not open the file and asks if I want to seach the web for a program to open them in.

I was able to view the videos in Windows Media Player, but there is no sound. I am very frustrated by the fact that I cannot create this disc in the program. Is there a way to fix that problem. Thank you so much for all of your help.

Plains,
I have been reading the contents of this topic. I have seen you mention the capability of your PC. Basically you're going to struggle, the PC isn't good enough for the task you're asking of it - editing and rendering 1080i. It will struggle. The working space to render HD footage is extensive memory usage off the scale and then it becomes dependednt upon what you've done/selected while editing.

I would like to see some screenshots from you of the various warning messages AND of the User Interface - Editing section of PD. The camera's format and the camera being used.

You've also had to give dribbles of information here. I'd like it given in one hit please. See below for instruction.
