HW De-interlacing for Blu-ray stuff

I would like to be able to use "BOB (Hardware De-Interlacing)" for interlaced video on BD as I can with DVDs. When a BD is loaded, the option is greyed out, and automatically switched to "default". If I then open the very same video from the disc's STREAM dir, the option is available again...so I know it can work.

Is there some way of forcing this deinterlacing mode for interlaced content on BD, either in reg or some configuration file?

"{335AA36E-7884-43A4-9C91-7F87FAF3E37E}"="BOB (Hardware De-Interlacing)"

Stuff:
Vista 64bit SP2
GeForce GTX 280, driver v195.39 (changing versions makes no difference)
PDVD Ultra 9

Edit: I suppose I should note that the difference is very obvious when it's using the "default" de-interlacing method. So it is definitely switching HW BOB off when opening a BD. Blah
