Perhaps you could explain what that YT video suggested to do the removal, and how it didn't work in your case?

in the YT videos, the 2nd part where you open PIP designer and shift the image to the side, I"m not sure on that part

my person that I want to remove is very near the middle of the group on stage so that pip part is important

they show the 3rd step where you have tracks 2 and 3 and then add the orig video onto track 1

I think if you don't do the pip 2nd track part right, then when you put the orig on track 1 you still see the person

Hi,
To get this sort of editing correct, it's important that the principles of the removal are fully appreciated.

So in this case, say if this was a static image of a group against a brick wall, you can mask out the individual but there has to be something to replace the gap. Easy to "fill"in with a clone of the brick wall, so it then looks like just a "gap" in the group.

In the YT video the person was removed by a mask, the blank (which would be black if there is nothing "behind") was filled in by a bit of sea, duly feathered and blurred to make it look correct. The sea was from a layer behind the scene just positioned to fill the masked gap with a suitable bit of sea. The rest of the clip is hidden behind the main scene.

So whilst that was a video, there was no other moving content that interfered with the replaced sea. If there had been, say a boat crossing at that point, it would be a more difficult to get it edited to look correct.

So in your case, are there any movements that interfere with the masked out section, and what are you using to replace the masked out individual? Because that will affect how the final edit looks and what work has to be done to make it look acceptable.

Does that help at all?

Cheers

Ok, so what can you put in to "replace" the person removed?

Ideally, if you have a shot of the scene with no people showing the glass, railings and trees only, then that can be used to fill in and you end up with just a gap in the lineup, showing the window etc.

If not, you have to come up with someone/something else to fill the removed person!

I am glad my message went thru. I kept getting errors when trying to send the message with the photo attached

Yes any suggestion on how to replace the person would be great

I may have view of that stage with only 1 person walking forward, etc

can that be used to help replace the person I want to remove ?

Probably, but the end result may depend on such things as
if the camera angles are sufficiently similar,
if there is any camera movement - horizontal and vertical features are difficult to blend. For example if there was camera shake on one clip but not on the other, then it will show when trying to "match" the fill in clip with the main scene.
differences in lighting/exposure in the 2 clips
etc.

It really is a case of trial and error!

If there is any movement then you will need use the Motion Tracker with a blur to track the movements.
