Power Director 14 to Power Director 19 365 carrying through PDS files

Going to upgrade from Power Director 14 to 19 365.

Have done a lot of work on a PDS. in PD14. Will a PDS created in PD14 be functional in PD19 365. All media files present in same locations.

I'd suggest working on a backup copy of your pds file in PD19 until you are satisfied your project was read good enough. If you save the pds in PD19, even without making changes, it's difficult to modify pds in an editor to make compatible with PD14 again.

The pds will open in PD19, things may not be exactly as you had them though. It really depends what editing features you have used in your timeline. For instance, typically any chroma key that was applied will not be the same, if some form of canned slide show was used, timing is often different, if pics were color corrected, those might be missing or different, some transitions may not behave the same,...on and on, but the pds file will typically open fine in PD19 and gives you a starting point.
