Will my PowerDVD 22 expire for new Blu-ray Disc movies one day after a new version is released?

No it will not expire as soon as the new version comes out. For example, users who have PowerDVD 12 Ultra are still able to play the newest Blu-ray Disc movies, as long as:

1. They have the latest version of their PowerDVD installed. You can download the latest software patches here:
https://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdvd-ultra/patches_en_CA.html
2. They ensure they update their GPU driver regularly. We recommend updating your GPU driver from the manufacturer web site, rather than via Windows update.
3. They ensure their disc drive firmware is updated regularly.

These steps should be followed for all retail versions of PowerDVD, even the latest version.

Does my computer need to be connected to the Internet for the software to work?

We ask that you connect to the Internet after installing PowerDVD for initial software and file format activation, and the first-time you play an Ultra HD Blu-ray movie. An Internet connection is also required to use any of the online services, such as CyberLink Cloud, YouTube, and Vimeo.

For PowerDVD and PowerPlayer 365, an Internet connection is required to sign in and install the software, as well as for the reasons* above. After that, an Internet connection is required once a month to check your subscription status.

* Note: PowerPlayer 365 does not support disc playback. Please direct any sales or technical issues to CyberLink's customer support team:

Does PowerDVD play all regions of Blu-rays and DVDs from Europe and other countries?

Yes PowerDVD can play all regions of Blu-rays and DVDs. However, the disc region of the disc you play should be consistent with the region code setting of your disc player. The disc region is controlled by your disc player for DVDs and is changed in Windows. For Blu-ray Discs, you can change the disc region in PowerDVD on the Blu-ray Disc tab in preferences. The Blu-ray Disc region can only be changed a maximum of five times. Please direct any sales or technical issues to CyberLink's customer support team:

Why Can’t I play Ultra HD Blu-ray Movies on New Intel CPU (11th generation or above) platforms?

The Intel Software Guard Extensions (Intel SGX) feature is a requirement on the CPU and motherboard firmware to play the DRM (digital right management) content on Ultra HD Blu-ray movie discs on a Windows platform. The Intel SGX feature has been removed from Intel 11th generation (or newer) CPUs, so therefore playback will not be available on new platforms.

How can I re-download my PowerDVD/PowerPlayer software again? My download link expired, what can I do?

If you purchased PowerDVD (perpetual version) from the CyberLink store, the software download links are active for 30-days, after which they expire. We encourage you to keep a backup of your downloads on your computer or on a cloud storage service. You can re-download the software via the download links in your order confirmation e-mail. If you lost your order confirmation e-mail, please contact customer support.

If you purchased a subscription to PowerDVD 365 or PowerPlayer, you can download the CyberLink Application Manager (CAM) from this page: https://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/application-manager/download_en_US.html. Once CAM is installed and you are signed in, just click the "Install" button next to PowerDVD/PowerPlayer on the My Programs tab to re-download and install it.

I have bought PowerDVD but I can’t find where I input the product key in the Essential or trial version I was using. What can I do?

The Essential or trial version cannot be activated. You need to uninstall the trial and then install PowerDVD from the software download link in the verification email you received after purchase. If you purchased PowerDVD 365, you should download the CyberLink Application Manager, sign in, and then install PowerDVD 365 from the My Programs tab. Why don’t I have this feature in my PowerDVD? What features are in my version of PowerDVD?

Some versions of PowerDVD do not include all of the features. For example Ultra HD Blu-ray playback is not supported in the Pro or Standard editions of PowerDVD.
