Audio problems

Hi all

Nearly at the end of a fairly complex project (a Virtual Choir thing), when suddenly all Audio in the Timeline disappeared... If I select a Clip in the Library and then play that Clip in the Preview window, I hear Audio. But playing it in the Timeline results in silence. I can see the Waveform, and can send the audio to AudioDirector and play it and process it from there. Sending it back to PD = no sound, though the Waveform is still there.

If I render the video, the audio is fine!

The problem persists if I start a New Project.

I usually work on audio in an external program so don't have cause to mess about with the Mixer in PD - but I don't see a Master Fader, only faders for individual tracks (which are set at 0)

Help!

Oh, also...

I have Un-installed and Re-installed PD 365.

And, if I load an old project, I still have no audio.

Does the produced video have audio? Make sure you have PD set to preview in Real-time:

If the problem persists, take a screenshot of the timeline then save it as a JPG or PNG and use the Attachments button below the forum's text box to share it here.

Hi Optodata
Yes, I called it 'Rendered', should have said 'Produced'! The audio is fine in that.

BUT - just checked back in the Project, and you're absolutely right, I had for some unknown reason checked 'Preview in Non-Real Time'. Changing that back to 'Real Time' cured the problem. Tut!

Thanks for your prompt help, you've increased my life span somewhat!
