Shaky video playback

I am trying to create a training DVD. Every time I play the video back in the full screen mode it is very shaky. The original video is not shaky and does not appear to be shaky when played inside power director on the small screen. I have enabled the stability feature and it still is shaky when played back in full screen. Will this issue occur when I burn it and play it on a TV? Is there a way to stabilize it more??
I appreciate any help I can get

Hi Plains,
The information is too general in your post, you need to be more specific with additional data. I'm particularly interested in knowing about
1. PD version
2. your PC set up,
3. player available on your set up
4. the video file you have.

My guess is you have a graphic card issue. Please go through the list below and give the details. Thank you.

You can not pinpoint the issue BUT you can give more detail of content and provide a visual image as well as a diagnostic of your set up. Please note that 3 (x100kb) images/files can be attached to your reply.

1) I am using Power Direct 8

2)The computer is a Dell Precision M6400 Intel core 2 duo 2.34 GHz 4096MB RAM and a Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M video card.

3) The player is widows media player, but I am not playing the video in that I am still editing it and playing it in PD

4) The video file type is an AVCHD 1080i format (is this what you wanted to know)

I hope this information helps

I have to agree with Dafydd on this. I rarely work with AVCHD files, so there are people here more qualified to answer this than me, but I'm going to take a shot anyways. Even with your capable computer, AVCHD 1080i will put a strain on the resources. If you are running the movie in the preview at full screen, that is not necessarily a good indication of produced quality. If you have any concerns, I would suggest burning a small segment of video to a DVD-RW disc and playing that in the Blu-ray player. If it doesn't play well, then try using the MPEG 2 HD formats for now. The lose in quality will probably be unnoticeable.

Also, if you are done editing, then produce the video to your final format and work with that. That will also help take some of the work load off of the computer.

Thank you I had a feeling that it was running that way because of the format, but wasnt sure if it was just a bug with PD 8. I will test a small section on a dvd player and see what happens.

Well it looks like I have another problem on my hands. When I press the create a DVD it begins to load it and open up, but every time it gets to 71% it freezes and I have to shut the program down. I have tried it about seven time and the same thing happens. I am not running any other programs so I am unsure as to why this is happening unless its a bug in PD 8.

Plains,
You've been a bit "sparse" with your basic information, example: PD8, but what version build is it?

The same applies to the latest issue you have. You need to analysis the information and present it to us. Information is really the key to localising a cause and giving a solution.

Please go through the list of tasks I have posted previously and give members a chance at providing a suitable solution for you.

I apologize I really do not know much about PD so I am not sure where to gather this information.

I am using PD 8 version 1.0

My computer specs: Dell Precision M6400 Intel core 2 duo 2.34 GHz 4096MB RAM and a Nvidia Quadro FX 3700M video card. I have windows XP

I created the video and now I am trying to burn it when I click on the create disc, the load bar pops up and says intializing project data it loads 71% each time and then freeze my computer. I then have to ctrl>alt>del and shut down the whole program.

Could it be an install error or a problem with the program itself?

Thank you for your help

I apologize for my lack of computer knowledge. I am unable to locate the information you requested. Where would I find the version information.

Problem #3 my last problem has been solved to a degree if I wait at least ten minutes PD will load the create a DVD program. So I am able to make a menu, but this leads me to problem #3

When I attempt to burn a DVD an error message occures. The error is
MotionMenuGenerator.exe
Application Error
The exception Integer division by zero (0xc0000094) occurred in the application at location 0xlc40a49af

I have tried several different things from a pre-created menu to making my own menu they all have the same error messge.

I apologize for my lack of computer knowlede

you can get the program version by clicking the little director's chair in the top left cornet. choose Help and About PowerDirector. It will have a version there. In my case it looks like "PowerDirector Ultra 8.00.1930". __________________________________

Hi Victoria,
Following your PM to me regarding the error message you had.

Please check the audio you've used in the music track. If it is a *.m4a or a mp4 audio file then the Media Source Error message will occur.

I have just carried out a test on a project I had the error message with - I had used an.mp4 audio file.

As a temporary workaround I suggest you convert these files to mp3's - I think Windows media player can do that for you.

The audio files are WMA. I will try and convert them to an MP3. If I download a different version of PD will I lose the videos I have already created??

Update on the following information Victoria provided.

There seems to be more problems....
I received that first error when I attempt to bun any of the movies....
If I press cancle and leave it long enough 10 minutes another error pops up saying
Burn unsuccessful.
Possible causes:
Transcoding engine's front end stream error
Might be due to:
Broken or missing source file
Out of system memory.

I have localised the cause of this in my system to the placement of a color board (first item in the video track) followed by a one second fade transition between it and a mp4 video clip. Workaround: Remove the transition and the video will burn successfully. Transitions between clips did NOT cause a problem.

The issue has been reported.

Hi Victoria,
Wma, that's new information. Thank you. I've reported that the wma's seemed to cause the same issue as m4a's and audio mp4's.

Videos or projects?

1. For Projects I suggest you opt to save them Directors chair icon (top left) > File > Save project as and then save them in numerical order. You should constantly save your work to a new project file - always have a fall back.
2. Videos. there is no reason to think you'll lose video files IF you have stored them in a location on your Hard Drive and away from Program Files.

Do I need to remove all transitions from color boards. In the file I am trying to burn I do not have any transitions from color boards in the beginning. I removed the one at the end and will try to burn it. Is this a problem in all the power directors because I will need to add transitions from color boards to clips in later projects??

Hi Victoria,
This is one transition right at the beginning of a video, the very first one in MY case and set next to a color board. It only affects the video if you go from Edit to Create Disc. IF you opt to Produce first as part of your editing method (like most of us pro's do) you wont have a problem.

Please do not panic about this matter as CyberLink are informed and will seek to fix asap. I want it fixed.
