I have searched for an answer to this, but haven't found one.

When I create a video, the filename of the video appears on screen at the beginning of the video. How do I get rid of that? ... and why is it there? https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomcloud

That is the default of most video viewers and players. Try it with any video file on your pc. You can disable that function in VLC. See this article: https://www.itsupportguides.com/knowledge-base/tech-tips-tricks/vlc-media-player-how-to-disable-on-screen-file-name/ .

My TVmediaplayer shows the same annoying info a few seconds when starting a video file, no way to turn it off. To avoid that this overlays my video, I always add 5 seconds of black at the beginning of a PDproject. Recware: DJI Osmo Pocket, GoproHero7Black, PanasonicFZ300/HCX909, Sony PXW-X160.
Software: Vegaspro365+Vegasaur/PowerDirector365
Hardware: i910900k,32GB,GTX2080s, 1920x1200 display
Playware: Samsung Qled QE65Q6FN, Philips 55PFL7108
