Convertion of captured videofiles

Hi,
Is it possible to convert captured video files of AVI-size to suitable formats? Then what is the best setting? MP4 or Mov

Now when working with AVI then the material is ok in the Media Library but when it is place on the timeline and then the edit is started the picture dissappers but the audio is OK.
I have PD 16.

Yeah, you can, but not in PowerDVD. You'll need to use a free converter like HandBrake. MP4 is the best format because it seems to work with most media players.
