CyberLink PowerDVD 20 requires an Intel processor with Intel SGX support. Yet 11th Gen Intel processors will likely have SGX support axed. So, will CyberLink PowerDVD 20 be patched to support Intel's implementation of full memory encryption (TME/MKTME), or will we just have to be forced to upgrade to PowerDVD 21 (if it itself even has TME support)?

You are asking the wrong guy here.


It's not CyberLink nor PowerDVD requires the Intel SGX for the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc playback.

Unfortunately, it's the requirements from the "Blu-ray Disc Association" (which is established by Intel giants and Hollywood movie studios) that requires the playback on PC platform needs the specific technology.


Please send your request or "complaints" to Blu-ray Disc Association to ask them change the requirements to support new things.

Well here's official answer from Cyberlink itself
"The removal of the SGX feature, and its compatibility with the latest Windows OS and drivers, has caused a substantial challenge for CyberLink to continue supporting Ultra HD Blu-ray movie playback in our player software. So much so, that it has been determined that it is no longer feasible for CyberLink to support the Ultra HD Blu-ray playback on newer CPUs and the latest Windows platforms."

Oh well from what I read online was always problematic playing 4K disc from a PC i.e. had to buy certain hardware, motherboard etc for it to work properly.
That's why I just ended up getting an Xbox X to play back my 4K disc myself.
