Solid Background for Title

Hi. First post.

I have a title that I want to add a solid background to (the template background is transparent). The only way I can see to do this is click on the 'insert background' button above the preview but that requires an image when all I want is a sloid black background. Do I have to create a solid black image 1920 x 1080 and use that or have I missed something?

Use a "Color Board" on a track lower than the title..

Indeed.

Color boards to be found as a Tab in de Media room (F3), and

The lower track is in the timeline the track above the track with your title or
under the track with your title if you have set the reserve track order on in the preferences/editing options.

You can of course also use (as you say) your own 1920x1080 images.
