Hello,

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and am having an issue updating my PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra to update 5711. I can install version 3730a as well as update 4407 but if I try to update to version 5501 or 5711 the update fails with the following messege.

Error 2932.Could not create files C:\Windows\Installer\{6811CAA0-BF12-11D4-9EA1-0050BAE317E1}\1033.mst from script data. Error:32.

After clicking OK/Continue I get the following:

ComponentMoveData had the following error:

Component:
File Group:
File:
Error Number: -1603

It then continues to remove my copy of PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra from my computer. Is there any way I can update my product without having to upgrade my version of PDVD 7.3 to version PDVD 9?

I am having the same issue on the 32 bit Windows 7. Cyberlink's official response so far is that PowerDVD 7 is not compatible with Windows 7 although the microsoft compatability site says otherwise. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=CyberLink%20PowerDVD&v=CyberLink&uid=7&pf=0&pi=3&c=Photo%20%26%20Video&sc=CD%2fDVD%20Utilities&os=32-bit
Is there a workaround? Cyberlink lists minimum system requirements for PowerDVD 7 on Windows 7 as well.

I receive the same error message.

I have Win7 x64 Professional. Weird they say it's not compatible when you first install it the program comes up fine.

Here is what I installed on the first try:

1 CyberLinkPowerDVD_Ultra_3319f
2 CyberLink.4617a_TaRe38_DVD081201-07
3 CyberLink.5711_TaRe43_DVD090826-05

The last is what causes the error.

I then tried running 1 & 3 w/ running as admin, same errors.

I need HD DVD playback so I'm looking into other programs.

Here is my response to them:

The suggestion I purchase a newer software package is not a liable solution. Prior to installing the latest update for Powerdvd 7.3 Ultra the programs works so it has to be compatible w/ Windows 7. If the program didn't install or had some errors w/ crashing I would then find it more feasible it wasn't compatible. It almost seems as if a kill switch was put in the last patch so users would have no choice. The thing is we do, and I need HD DVD playback. So instead of paying $90.00+ dollars to upgrade I paid $59.99 for Arcsoft's Total Media Theater Platinum v3 which plays everything Powerdvd 9 does.

I just wish they would fix the updates to work with Windows 7. PowerDVD 7.3 build 3319a is working great for me in terms of HD-DVD, I tested Arcsoft and while I like it I would like to stick with PDVD products. PDVD 9 is at a nice price but Arcsoft still offers HD-DVD support in an all in one product however it is $99.99 right now. Just wish they would allow the updates to work on Windows 7 so I don't have to have two PDVD products installed.

that's the link to the windows 7 compatibility update for powerdvd 7.3 which i just installed & it updated pdvd to v8 which then none of my movies will play. the update for powerdirector failed completey saying my optical drive wasn't the right model# but it was lg's website that linked me to cyberlink update in the first place!! so i had to uninstall the whole suite & install again just to play a movie. i ain't installing no more updates cuz it works fine with my w7 64 bit home prem & i ain't paying any more $ for a product that has so many issues. that's cyberlink's standard response, upgrade to powerdvd 9 ultra & it will solve everything lmao. gag!

I have both a retail and OEM copy of PowerDVD 7.3 but my GGC-H20L is not supported by the OEM upgrade offered by Cyberlink/LG.
