I use Powerdirector 14. Do I, or should I upgrade now to take advantage of the capabilities of this camera. The current version software works OK but I wondeer if I'm missing something. Playback has been problematic with even a 10th gen i7 16GB ram SSD HD.

I noted support for the importing of 4K video on a feature page in PD 18. So I'm a bit confused when it comes to my version 14 being fully compatible with my S1.

Generally speaking, you're going to be better off with PD18/365 both because of the 4:2:2 support and also because PD14 can't use any new nVidia GPUs - so you're stuck with the 411.70 driver from 2018 for all cards that were in production then. That's not an issue if you have an AMD GPU or you're only going to use the embedded iGPU with Intel CPUs, however.
