PD12 and h.265 (HEVC)

Simple question that I feel like I should have been able to find via Google/Bing but can't: does PD12 support h.265 (HEVC) compressed video files?

When I import my video clips, PD12 does not appear to be recognizing them as video. It does not give a preview/thumbnail of them and when I move them to the timeline, it just wants to put them as audio.

My h.264 video clips all work fine from the same camera at the same resolution and framerate.

Is there a trick to getting PD12 to work with h.265?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure PD12 doesn't support HEVC, but other members my have different info.

PD12 came out in 2013 but the first nVidia card to support HEVC was the GTX980 in late 2014. PD14 (late 2015) was the first version to produce to HEVC, but PD13 can read HEVC files on my system.

go to SourceForge and download RockyMountains Movie Converter . you can convert H.265 to H.264 or .Mov ProRes 4.2.2 or 4.4.4 and it's free.

i've been using it for about 5 years. it is an excellent converter.

also FFmpegYAG is another excellent program that is free, too.

happy happy joy joy
