Is there a way to keep PhD from inporting photos every time I start it? It was inporting sample photos, and I got it to quit doing that, but now it is inporting all of the photos in my "Pictures" library.

I want to start with a clean page, and just inport what I want to work on.

My ios: Windows 10
I'm using: PhotoDirector 11
Version: 11.0.2307.0 (64 bit)
Type: Ultra

Hello ALW 246,

Welcome to the PhotoDirector forum laughing

I've used PhotoDirector since it was first launched (whenever that was) and I've never known it to automatically import photos from anywhere! It's possible I may have missed something, but I can't see how.

It's true that the sample photos will be included once you open your first project, but, after you delete them from the project, that's that! No more sample photos in that or subsequent projects unless they're deliberately imported.

Try this:

  1. Open PhD

  2. Go to File > New Project

  3. What happens? Does PhD automatically import photos?

Hello Pix,

That works! But it seems kinda weird, maybe its just because I'm new to PhD.

I found out that it is not automatically loading from my "Pictures" folder, it is automatically loading the last project that I worked on. Is that normal?

Part of what seems weird is that when you go to File _ New Project the first thing you have to do is name and save it (not the old project, the new one, before you do any work in it), and then PhD has to restart.

I thought it would work like PowerDirector. It opens on a new project, you do your work, and then you name and save it. If you finish a project (or in the middle of one) you can start a new project without having to restart the program.

Anyway, like I said, your idea did work to give me a clean slate and I appreciate your help. Thank you.
