Hi everyone,

I recorded some footage for a local event yesterday, during editing i noticed that the clip would not play to the very end! its a12 min clip, the video and sound just cut out at the last few minutes. I looked back at the footage on the camera and it plays fine with the sound and the entire video clip.
I
imported it again and it seemed fine. the file played the video to the end but with NO sound for the last few mins, so i thought as a workaround i would import just the audio of the clip and place it underneathe the clip, to fix the missing audio! and it seemed to work fine, but i burn't the dvd lastnight and when played back on the TV i noticed the clip pauses at the end and the audio plays on.......how can i fix this issue. i should also mention that i got a notification on the camera that the clip was broken!! how can this issue be fixed, its just the crucial last few min of a 12 min clip that i need to get back.

Kind Regards,
Kate

Based on everything you've written, it sounds like something went wrong with the camera when it was recording that clip. PD doesn't ever act directly on, or make any changes to, a source clip, so it wouldn't have caused the problem

One way to confirm that the clip is damaged is to try playing it in different media players, like Windows Media PLayer, VLC, PotPlayer (and/or Movies & TV if you have Win10).

In VLC, there is a convert option that you can try to see if a converting the clip can recover the part after the glitch. You can also try the free, popular Handbrake app and see if it can convert the clip and recover the final section. Search online for more info on those options.

If you're comfortable sharing the clip here, you can upload it to Google Drive or OneDrive and paste the link to it here. Then other people can test the clip and see if they can recover any of the damaged section.
