Hi there before I make a new purchase of PD-17 can I have some advice please

will PD-17 open the 4096 x 2160 filmed with the HEVC 265 CODEC

do i have to convert them first, or create proxy files then export at 4K

if so I take it that it would be mp4 yes/no or is there a better format that PD will handle

can you advise me of the best converter for the above files

I have about 50 video clips all about 1min long need to convert to something that PD will handle

and need High Quality output they have to be uploaded at full 4k Resolution

can someone tell me there workflow for the above files

hello.
yes, PD17 will import UHD 8bit 4.2.0 H.265 HEVC .MP4 and output at UHD 8bit 4.2.0 H.265 HEVC .MP4.

you don't have to convert nor have to use proxy files to work in PD17.
if your files are 10bit 4.2.2 then you have to convert...
if you have slow computer than mine(AMD FX-8370E ≈7807) then you need shadow files to ease the pain of editing but that'll slow down even more becasue it takes time to create shadow files...

my recommendation is go ahead and purchase the full version of PD 17Ultimate and not satisfied then get your money back. make sure to purchase through CyberLink online store.
